Green Residential & Land Development

Ken Fonorow, Director of The Cross Creek Initiative, Inc. has recognized that Florida and many other regions throughout the United States are rapidly developing standards for green residential construction. The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) Green Home Standard is a primary example of a process that has been born out of this trend.

Ken and The Cross Creek Initiative, Inc. team provide assistance to developers and builders in implementing this standard and other similar approaches that reduce the negative environmental and resource impacts of home building and land development.

Ken is an independent energy analyst and building science consultant with a proven track record of accomplishments. He works in partnership with award-winning developers, builders and homeowners to improve the efficiency, health and durability of homes.

During the pre-construction phase, Ken will provide advice on the selection of the most appropriate and cost effective systems, methods and products to implement. Additionally, he will develop material and mechanical system specifications, duct system design and conduct design reviews as well as prepare energy related code compliance forms.

Utilizing state of the art diagnostic equipment upon construction completion, Ken administers whole-house performance tests to provide assurance that design specifications have been achieved and that the home is functioning properly.

As a licensed Class I Rater and Green Certifier, Ken is equipped to provide developers with an Energy Star® or Green Building certification.

Ken's years of professional experience, coupled with the use of the latest in diagnostic testing equipment, allows him to provide developers with the most cost-effective solutions to problems and issues, such as:
Uneven temperatures
High Utility Bills
Indoor Air Quality Issues:
Allergies
Odors
Molds
Radon
